Everything Sonoma

How we verify listings

A check mark on Everything Sonoma means a fact check, not a review. Here is exactly what we do before a business gets one.

The steps

  1. Request. The owner or manager writes to us from an address at the business (or we already work with them directly, for partner listings).
  2. Contact check. We confirm the phone number, street address and website belong to the business, using the business's own website and its public map listing.
  3. Details check. The owner confirms hours, booking links and the description. Photos must come from the business or be free-licensed and credited.
  4. Badge. We add the check mark and the level. The page says which level and links here.
  5. Re-check. We review verified details at least once a season and remove the mark if a business closes or details stop matching.

Levels

  • Verified: We confirmed the business is real and its phone, address and website are correct, directly with the owner or manager. Free.
  • Verified partner: Verified, and works directly with Everything Sonoma (for example, partner tours and homes whose details come straight from the owner). Free.
  • Verified local pro: Verified, plus checked as an established, locally run Sonoma Valley business. Coming later. Not offered yet.

What verification is not

  • It is not paid. Basic verification is free.
  • It is not an endorsement or a rating, and it never changes reviews or ranking within a category.
  • We never write, buy or filter reviews. Ratings shown on listings come from Google.
