How we choose listings

Most listings come from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world built by volunteers, which anyone can check and improve. A few listings, like featured ones, come straight from the business's own website, and we say so on the page.

Our rules

A business is shown only when it has a working phone number on record, so you can always call before you go. Parks and trails are public places, so they are shown when a managing agency, website or encyclopedia article backs them up.

We do not copy photos or reviews from Google, Yelp or other review sites. Photos on this site are free-licensed, and credited on our photo credits page.

Order on the page

Featured listings appear first and are always labeled. After that, places in the town of Sonoma come first, then the rest of the county by town and name. You can sort by distance with the Use my location button.
